Senior Citizen Safety Event

Shropshire NewsroomShropshire Council have announced an Information Day for older people to help them to provide advice on keeping healthy, active and independent. Full information can be found here.
The event will take place between 10am to 3pm on Thursday 10 April at the Festival Drayton Centre, Frogmore Road. The event is free and open to everyone, but anyone interested in coming along is asked to book a place by calling 01743 342160. Transport can be provided to the Festival Drayton Centre.
A large amount of information will be available, including talks from the Falls Prevention Service, West Mercia Police and Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service. Members of Age UK Benefits Service will be in attendance to advise people on which benefits they may be entitled to. Other experts will be on hand to talk about the Unpaid Carers Support Service, community transport, support for people with hearing or sight loss, and much more.
The information day is being organised jointly by Age UK and Shropshire Rural Community Council’s wise and well team. It is also being supported by Shropshire Council.
