Police appeal for witnesses to serious injury collision on A442 in Peplow

West Mercia Police LogoThis morning (29 Aug. 2018) West Mercia police have appealed for witness to a serious road traffic accident which happened last Saturday on the A442 in Peplow. The appeal, which has been published on their website, reads:

Incident 285s of 25 August 2018
Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision that occurred on the A442, Peplow on Saturday 25 August 2018 at around 12:07 hours.
The collision involved a silver Vauxhall Insignia car and a black BMW motorcycle travelling northbound on the A442. The vehicles were believed to be in the process of overtaking a third vehicle when the collision occurred.
The male rider of the motorcycle suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward and in particular the driver of the vehicle that they were overtaking to please contact PC 3641 Rob Jennings, OPU, Shrewsbury on 101 ext 5748.

Shed Fire at Peplow Garage

Shropshire Fire and Rescue ServiceYesterday, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service reported a shed fire at Peplow Garage. This is the premises of Cyril Wilcox & Sons, though it is better known as Peplow Service Station.
Following a call to the SRFS Control Centre at 3:00pm, Hodnet Fire Crew were sent to the scene. On arrival they found a 2m by 3m garden shed, totally damaged by fire. The fire had also spread to 6 metres of fencing and 2 metres of hedgerow.
The report states that they used 2 breathing apparatus, 1 main jet and 1 hose reel jet to extinguish fire.
The incident was declared closed just before 3:30pm.
