Digger Blaze in Kenstone

Yesterday, 5 November, 2018 Shropshire fireShropshire Fire and Rescue Service and Rescue Service received at call at 2:45pm to what was initially described as a LGV fire. According to the incident report on their website, the fire was found to be in the engine compartment of a digger. The crews used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to tackle it.
Crews from Hodnet and Market Drayton attended the blaze, with the stop message being issued at 3:00pm.
Later, Market Drayton Fire Station, posted more details of the fire on its Facebook page. This included that there were no injuries as a result of the fire, and that the cause of the fire was accidental. The Drayton crew were able to leave whilst the one from Hodnet carried out the task of damping down.
